01Our Work

Four pillars working toward one right: access.

Prevention, education, research, and policy — each pillar reinforces the others to close the gap between lifesaving care and the communities that need it.

Prevention & Distribution

Naloxone and overdose prevention

Naloxone is a safe, fast-acting medication that temporarily reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, restoring normal breathing so a person has time to receive further medical care. It is non-addictive, easy to administer, and can be carried by anyone — not just medical professionals.

Atlas has distributed more than $500,000 in lifesaving resources and thousands of units of naloxone directly to communities, alongside hands-on training so recipients feel confident and prepared to use it.
